Grieving the loss of a loved one is a very difficult but natural
process. There are a number of resources available to help
you, your family, and friends cope. Please use and share the
resources we've collected throughout the Grief Support portion of
our site

Lending Library
We maintain a library of grief resource
materials for use by the public. Our library includes well over 100
books, videotapes, audiotapes and brochures all authored or
produced by nationally recognized authorities. Topics include
general grief & bereavement, loss of a parent, death of a
child, children & death, grief in the workplace, terminal
illnesses, sudden & traumatic death, AIDS related deaths,
suicide & homicide, and a section for professionals dealing
with death as caregivers.
Holiday Memorial

The
Christmas season can be a particularly difficult time for those who
have recently experienced a death bringing with it conflicting
emotions of joy and sorrow. All of our local hospices offer
memorial tree lighting ceremonies to help remember your loved one
during this special time of the year.
It is a beautiful and meaningful ceremony with the lighting of the
Christmas Tree, a candle lighting ceremony with comforting thoughts
and passages of remembrance.
Greif Therapy Camps or Bereavement
Camps
Sierra Hospice of the Chester Lake Almanor area offers two
camps, one for adults (Camp Big HUG) the first
weekend of May and one for children (Camp HUG) during
the second weekend of September at the beautiful Camp Ronald
McDonald located at Eagle Lake, CA. These camps are three day
adventures dealing with the loss of a loved one be it a family
member or friend and are free to those that attend. More
information can be obtained at www.sierrahospice.com.
